Sending active Zero during Shutdown

The "Feature" that the Console send an active Zero during Shutdown is a bad idea
Very bad.
So the Console switch of my Working Lights and  i get a "Dark Room".
With People in it.

It is very important change this very fast.
PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
I have nowhere the option to change it.

Hold last Counts is the only Option everybody will need.
I know nobody thats wants all switch off if he shut down his Console....
And i know no other Console thats work like this.

It is really a very big Problem for me.

  • I know that the Ion doesn't operate this way. Try leaving a submaster with house/work lights up. Set the dimmers to "Hold level at Loss of DMX" so that when the console shuts down, the dimmers hold their last value for a time, and then shut off.

You don't have a separate controller for house lighting? How do you turn house lights on for cleaning without the console?

Is this a recent change? is this the first time you've noticed this?
Is there a default setting for this in the GIO?

  • andrew: this is not a local DMX situation but sACN.
  • Yes, Ueli is wright.
I work with sACN and not DMX Out.
Send sACN to a 4Port Reponse ETC Node and from this to the Worklightdimmers
Theses Dimmers works with DMX. They are normal controll via a seperate Houselightcontroller

The Problem is, come in during normal daylight -i got normal daylight from outside in my rooms- and you don't think about, switch the worklight on.
Then start the Console, use the darking system for get out the daylight, switch worklight via Console on.
For that i switcht the DMX SIgnal from Houselight away and put it to control via Console.

If you end working -not really remember the worklight was OFF at the moment you start the work- you shut down the Console.
And in this moment the Console send an active Zero to all Channels (via sACN).
Ups,..... now you get a Darkroom.
(Not really helpfull if someone stands on a ladder....)

  • And,.... i try about hours and hours with option like "Hold last Counts for XXX seconds"...
And all other option the 4PortNode gives..

I find this problem with a sACN Viewer.
An active Zero is not Lost DMX, so my Option "Hold last counts" do not really works.
