Effect sub turning off

I have a effect sub master channeled to a hazer, but for some reason it keeps going to 0, the sub is non recording, but the physical sub is at full. It seems to be turning off every time a new channel is captured and after a certain amount of time goes by. Why is it doing this?

  • Not sure....
are you activating the sub by pushing the bump button, AND does the sub/handle have a time recorded with it (sub 11 time 5 time HOLD time 10)?
is the sub running an effect for the hazer, and does that effect have a duration time limit to it?

It could be something simpler, but that's not how I run hazers, so I don't know.
(why set it as an Effect Sub??)

  • It is an effect sub so the hazer is not just constantly running, its so that it can be always be on but isnt always pumping out haze. I originally programed it so it had 2 actions each with a dwell 10, action 1 was 100% and action 2 was 0%. I am activating it with the bump button. when going into [sub] [sub] the time is set to 0. Does it matter if its proportional or intensity?
  • is the sub set to Hold?
do you press Go in the mean time and the hazer receives a different move instruction from there?
    GotoCue in the mean time?
  • I would suggest checking the effect (Effect Effect and then the #). there should be a Time IN (cue/sub or a time #), Duration/Cycle (how long in time the effect lasts / how many times it passes through the cycle) and then Time OUT.

    Check those.

Check the time of the cycles 10 on, 10 duration, 10 off for each step.

On the sub: time 0 is the fade up time of the sub. time 0 ( fade up) time (duration) Hold, and time 0 (down).

not sure about proportional vs intensity status of the sub in this case. With the recent upgrades (2.6.1?) the effect sub has been rendered obsolete by other sub properties. You can run an effect on a sub without the sub being an Effect Sub. When Proportional, all data rolls up/down with the fader (such as colour or focus positions). As Intensity Master, only the intensity rolls into place; the Non-intensity Parameters snap in with the bump or as soon as the fader moves off the 0%.

I would think your problem is coming from the effect ending (in the effect settings), or the sub is automatically turning off (it's duration setting isn't HOLD, but it should be).
