fx restarting in new cues

Ok, so, I have what I hope is a very simple problem, it has happened multiple times on multiple Eos desks over the last year, and I am very tardy in making this post, as we always did workarounds, so I do not have exact software editions to list, but we were always updated at the time...but, on to the query:

Using MAC Auras. we start a movement effect on a section of the rig, then in the next cue we add other Auras to the same effect (less often, we will start an other effect on other portions of the rig), and the original set of lights all jump back to where they started to then restart the motion of the effect-is there a way to have the new lights begin the effect without affecting the original set of movers? This has been compounding in confusion, as sometimes the problem happens, and sometimes not, and we are unsure what difference might exist, as we have hunted through, and see no differences in how we had the units enter the effects each time?

Thanks all!

  • another possible solution is that in the second cue you're giving the first group of lights a "new" command to start the (same) effect. this would reset them back to the start.
Solution: in blind, go to the second cue and make sure the effect value is purple (meaning it has tracked through from the first cue). If it is white or green or blue, that means it is a new instruction command. If it is any colour except purple, enter the channel string of the first set of channels, and @ Enter to remove the new command.

If ueli has the right answer, the solution might be to copy your effect to a new number (xx.1) and apply the new cue to the second set of channels. that won't affect the spreading command within the first effect.

    Hope that helps
