Any way to Record to "Overwrite"?

Question

Let's say I have a preset which contains Focus and Beam data for channels 1-10 (all moving lights). 
 I decide I actually only want channels 1-5 in that present, and I want them to be focused differently than they are. 
 I build my new version of the preset with 1-5 in live. Now, I wish there was a way, in one step, for me to record 1-5 into the preset to completely overwrite the existing preset, meaning that 6-10 would no longer have any data. At the moment, I believe that no matter what method I use to record the preset, the new values for 1-5 will essentially merge into the existing present, and 6-10 will remain there untouched. If I then want to remove 6-10, I can go into blind and @* them, but that is a second step. Is there any way to do this in one step? I could imagine an "overwrite" softkey during record operations....

I think you cant actually do it, although strictly speaking record with no channels specifiied does replace the preset. 
 But unless you had all channels other than 1-5 in your example at their default values, they would get recorded as well. 
 What you can do is, quoting from the manual 
 You can remove channels from live by pressing: 
 &bull; [channel list] [Delete] [Color Palette] [2] [Enter] 
 So 
 update preset 1 
 6 thru 10 delete preset 1 
 Should do what I thing you are wanting
