Change in Lightwright Import behavior?

So since upgrading to 2.6.4 I've noticed that when using the LW Import function it completely erases everything else in the show file. Macros, cues, palettes, presets, etc. which didn't use to be the case. I asked ETC Tech Support about it, and they claimed that this was always the case, but I have since verified that at least in 2.3 it does NOT wipe the show file contents. Does anyone know when this change happened? And more importantly why? It's.... less than ideal...

Your work around would be import it into an empty show, save it as a normal show file and then you can use the file merge options to merge into you main show file exactly what you want to import, with a lot of granularity.

That's definitely the work around, but I'm trying to figure out why there was such a big change in the functionality, and seeming it's not recorded anywhere in release notes, at least that I could find.
