Magic Sheet feature requests

Hey all

I've been building some Magic Sheets for an upcoming show, and have a few requests that I've been wanting for a while now.

First off- I would LOVE the ability to 'lock' a graphic, image, or object in place.  I often use .png files in my magic sheets, and it is SUPER annoying when you accidentally have it selected and then move it on the page.  Unless you happened to click the 'undo checkmark' right before doing it- you have to try to line everything back up.  My thought would be a simple check box that just 'locks' the selection from any edit changes.  I know I can use a single image file as the actual background- but that only allows me 1 image... this feature would allow us to lock multiple images or objects.

Second- this one might be a little harder.... I have a magic sheet with a whole bunch of scenic RGB LED pixels- this is great as a visual reference to what is happening, and also great for some simple pre-programming of effects and groups.  I also built a Pixel Map using the same RGB LED pixels (by channel).... what would be AMAZING is if the pixel map output (which is really just affecting those same LED channels) would show up on the Magic Sheet.  This would allow me to 'see' how the pixel map will be affecting the LEDs.  Does this make sense?  What it comes down to is that I use Magic Sheets as a very rudimentary visualizer.

Thanks!

  • There is one trick you can do to protect the images from being selected.

If you put a transparent box over the top of the complete magic sheet and then do a "send to bottom". You can then select any of your images that you want locked and do a "send to bottom" on them they will then be behind the transparent box and can no longer be selected.

The only slight annoyance with this is if you click somewhere that is not an element on the magic sheet ie the blank space then you select the transparent box and have to command or ctrl click it to deselect. But if you can live with that it works to protect the images
