Mac 2k (16b) profile lamp controls in library personality

Just did a show with Mac 2k profiles and Mac 250's.  The lamp off control button in the {lamp controls} soft key did not seem to work for either of these unit types.  Maybe its a fix with Carallon??

 

Also, used an MDG 3000 fogger and the library personality in patch seemed to have the address functions reversed?? I just patched the addresses individually for the units.  

anyone else have these issues??

  • I had issues with the Mac 250 "Lamp On" when I last rented some. It might not be the console. It might be the Mac. Martin has a configurable option to do delayed "Lamp On" based on the DMX address, in order to reduce power issues with cold lamp inrush currents. The lack of immediate response might be due to this setting.

    My rig only had 5 mac 250's and were sequentially addressed in the patch with no offset.  The lamp ON function did work fine.  My troubles were with the lamp off.  Is there a menu setting in these MAc units that I'm not aware of to allow remote lamp controls??

    According the 250 Krypton/Entour manual available from the Martin website:

    The DMX Lamp-Off setting effects how the lamp can be turned off. When DLOF is ON, lamp power can be
    switched off by sending a DMX value from 248 to 255 on channel 1 for five seconds. When DLOF is OFF,
    the lamp-off command will not work unless special conditions are met. Refer to the DMX protocol.

    A little further down in the DMX protocol there's this note:

    If DMX Lamp Off is disabled in the menu, a lamp off command can only be executed if the CTC filter is selected, the prism is on (not rotating) and the open gobo is selected.

    According to the user notes in the ETC Fixture Release Notes for the MAC 250 Krypton:

    Ch 1 DMX 208,217 - Set Menu option dRES to 5 Seconds for this personality. Ch 1 DMX 248,255 - Set Menu option dLOF to ON for this personality. Ch 1 - If Lamp Off and Fixture Reset are disabled, they can still be activated by setting color wheel to 160-163, gobo wheel to 0, and beam fx wheel to 80-89. Ch 1 - Lamp cannot be switched ON for 8 minutes after being switched OFF.

    I suggest verifying that your fixtures are configured in accordance with ETC's release notes for predictable behaviour.

    No, we did not check the menu settings on the Mac 250's for our rig.   

    Is there a link for the fixture release notes you mentioned above??
