RFR connection problems

Hey guys,

Related to the RFR problems you guys have mentioned, and it may completely be the same problem, but I've also encountered problems with my RFR and the Ion. It very randomly decides to connect or not to. Even when it is connected, it decides to disconnect randomly as well. Even when standing in the same place. This is when it is ran wirelessly, not connected via the USB cable. Is there some kind of protocol or order of plugging it into the console, or turning the console on then the RFR, or what?

Am I missing something here? My guess is the antenna needs to be replaced... How would I even go about that??

Howdy Trex,

 Since the RFR uses the same frequency range as WLAN networks,

there could be some interference in your area. Why not change your connection

channel and see if the interference stops?

 You need to change it once in the RFR Handset (hold down "C" during

Handset Power-up, and once in the Console

settings for the receiver.

Yes, we have the same problem every time. If we leave the RFR plugged in when the EOS starts up we get a red light and the EOS freezes.

Our work around is the leave RFR unplugged until EOS is up and running and then plug in RFR to get green light. We've asked why this is, but have got no repsonse.

Geoff, we've not been able to duplicate this in the lab.... although we have a tester on it.   Will post more here as soon as we know.
