Cued Effects

I have been looking through the manual and have not been able to find a good way to connect an effect or macro to a Cue. Is there something I am missing?

  • To store an effect into a cue you simply need to be playing the effect when you hit record or update. To stop the effect in the next cue just make sure the effect is not running and record or update to a new cue.

To have a macro connect to the cue first record the macro you want to have the cue execute. Type in [Cue] [x] then look at your softkeys. Click [Execute] [Macro] [x] [Ent]

     Happy programming.

  • Thanks Josh.  A bit more info that might be useful for you.

One of the fundamental things about effects in Eos/Ion that is different from our legacy products is that effects are not stand-alone record targets that get tied to a cue.  They are channel parameter data.   So its a bit of a mind shift from Express/ion and Obsession.     The effects stored in a cue are displayed in the execute list, not because they are externally executed, but as a courtesy to let you know what effects are involved in a cue.    Only the step effects require an imbedded channel list.  To recall a step effect, you can:  [group] [effect] [n] [enter] or [recall from] [effect] [n] [enter].  Absolute and relative effects are applied to channels as needed.    To stop a running effect, you can [stop effect] [n] [enter] or [effect] [n] [at] [enter]. (Just listing a few of the things that you need to know, if you are new to the effects package!).

    Hope this helps.

  • Thank you both very much. That makes it MUCH more clear. The only question I have, without having the console in front of me, is can I do this in blind>record the Cue and Sneak it in?
