So, our RFR has started doing something odd while connected to it’s AC charger…
When plugged in and the power switch is in the off position, the RFR boots up, and claims to be connected to the base station, even though the EOS is powered off and the RFR receiver is unplugged from the board (another problem, see below). Any reason for this? It doesn’t do it every time I plug the RFR in, but it has been occurring more often.
2nd problem – when we first got our RFR (a god send) we started having trouble with the board booting up, as it would get stuck just before the EOS screen with the countdown and usually had to be forced to shut down and restarted by holding the button on the face panel. Now I’m not sure why (maybe reading off the forum) but I started unplugging the RFR Base Station (a.k.a. receiver) each time I shut down the console and reconnected the RFR base station the next time the board was turned on and fully booted up – the problem went away and I haven’t had problems with the start-up of the console since. We recently upgraded to 4.2 and I thought I would see if the problem still existed on start-up and it does in fact still exist. The RFR base station is connected to the board through the USB Cable. Is this just a problem with us or is this a common problem – if so is anyone looking into it or should I just get use to unplugging the RFR base station for the rest of it’s life?
3rd question mark – Does anyone else’s RFR flash “low battery” as soon as it is turned on, after it connects to the RFR Base Station which has come right off the charger? What’s up with that (although my Palm Treo did the same thing the other day, so maybe my electronic devices are haunted)?
