Eos Classic Updatability and Modern Relevance

How long will the Eos Classic be updatable, and will all current and planned features be supported on the Eos Classic? In addition, how do the touchscreen overlays work with modern direct selects? Are the overlays still relevant in 2.6.4?

Thanks

  • If you still have them I'm pretty sure that the direct selects still will adapt their layout to match the overlays.

There all already features that are not available in XP based consoles, like external multitouch and USB-Midi. In 2.7 there will be the next addition to that list, the online manual.

Keep in mind, that an Eos classic is a 14 year old computer design. I mean how many computers that age do you still have around?

I'm sure there has to be a point when the XP consoles will not get updates anymore. But when exactly that point will come, I don't know. I guess that would be for ETC to announce.
