Leaving an EOS on 24/7

Question

Hello, 
 I recently went into a theater that leaves their EOS and and ION consoles (with monitors) on 24/7. Is this going to shorten the life of the console?

Its a PC so like most electronics life is mostly in number of power on/off cycles, so will probably last longer left on. The monitors can be powered off though as they can deteriorate with time.
