Creating a new Multicell fixture

Hello!

With the 2.7.0 version of EOS family software, I understand it is now possible to create multicell fixtures. How do you create a new multicell fixture in the fixture editor?

Thanks!

  • Hello Harrison,
Thanks for your response. I'm trying to create a simple 3 cell cyc fixture with master intensity control on the master channel and individual intensity control for each cell, as was demonstrated in the 2.7.0 update video. So, the master channel will have no DMX output, but each cell will have one address each. Could you show me how to do this properly with multi cell fixtures in the 2.7.0 version?
    Thanks!
    Benjamin
  • so you're looking for a fixture that has 1 master intens, that in turn controls three cells with an intensity each. that's all those cells have?
since you can't currently create your own multicell fixture personalities you need to find an existing one in the library. for the one described above you can go to the manfacturer "Movie Fixtures" and pick "Barger Baglite 3ch MC"
  • That worked perfectly. Thanks!
One quick feature request- it would be great if there were generic multi cell fixtures with just intensity masters and incremental amounts of cells (eg. 2 cell, 3 cell, 4 cell, etc) for generic dimming fixtures.
  • Benjamin,
For all intents and purposes, I think that patching as a generic 3 channel RGB (or 4 Channel RGBA) fixture would make a little bit more sense on conventional multi-cell units, as you won't have the same color/parameter set per cell in your MC fixture.

    Just my 2 cents
    :)
