Discrete Data in By Type Color Palettes

Hi!

I have a show file (on ION) with multiple By-Type and Locked color palettes that include multiple fixtures. During tech, I have needed to update these color palettes for only one of the fixture types within the palette. I've done so in the following steps

1 - unlocking the palette

2 - selecting the group with the updated color and updating the color palette

3 - cleaning up the palette

Even after I clean up the palette, I am left with discrete data in the palette that I am unsure how to remove. How can I remove this? What is the recommended and safe way to update one color for one fixture type in a color palette without creating discrete data and affecting the other fixture info?

Thanks!

  • While updating you only need to select one of the channels and append your update command with the softkey ByType

In the colour palette tab select the colour pallette.

Press the Edit softkey and a blind table tab opens.

Press flexi until the table shows active only.

The discrete show up differently (white values I think).

Just @ enter the colours in them to delete them, as you do that they change to purple.

When you click off the channel onto another one they then disappear and eventually the By Type Channel list at the bottom right will no longer says + discrete but only list the main channel of the by types.

When I'm setting up colour palletes, I have one of each fixture type in a group.

I set the first fixture to the colour I want and execute a macro that says

    Clear_Command_Line 1 Copy_To Group 99
    Group 99 Record_Only

And I complete the last command by picking the colour pallete I want to record to.

(I may then tweak the colour of one fixture type if needed and just record that single one, if the calibration is visually off)
