Can cues set the levels of motorized faders?

Hello,

I had an idea for a bit of functionality that I would find useful.

Currently, I have a fader wing with subs on it, and so I move some subs up and record that into a cue. That's all fine. But after the initial light set, if I want to go back and adjust the intensity of a channel to higher than it was, then I just move the sub up more and rerecord. But when I want to make a sub dimmer, or black it out completely, I have to manually select the channel and bring it down with the wheel.

This works, but if I had motorized faders, is there a way to set the fader to the value of the cue? This would allow me to just drag the fader down and rerecord similarly to how dragging it up and rerecord works now.

Or does anyone have any recommendations on how to achieve this functionality? I'm on Nomad so any additional software could be used if necessary.

  • Try setting it to LTP and Restore to Minimum. Its not ideal but you can get control of the channels by using the sub, just raise the sub to reach the value that the channel is at based upon the cue. Just note that you cannot Sneak it back to Cue settings, however you can use go-to cue (x) to get your levels for any adjust channels back. (This is assuming these subs are just for intensity). Its not the same as capturing fader values and using that but I think it may be close enough to work.
