Patch DMX map (Eos 1.4.2)

I was doing some patch editing today using the DMX "map" screen and noticed some problems:

* The "universe" button highlight was always one universe less than the map was showing (i.e. when the map is showing 513-1024, the "1" universe button was highlighted).

* There is an offset from where the mouse pointer is and which DMX channel is selected. This offset increases as you go further towards the bottom of the screen.  At the top of the DMX map, you can click directly on the DMX channel number, but as you go further down, you have to click 1 or 2 or 3 rows underneath the desired DMX channel.  This hapens with both the mouse and using the touchscreen.

Has anybody else seen this behavior?

  • Todd,I've also had issues with the DMX map in Patch.

My issues have been mainly: the one you mentioned with the highlighted universe being incorrect as well as the NEXT key not functioning correctly. I was recently patching fixtures across multiple universe (due to the way the rig was setup) and using the NEXT key to add the next fixture. However, I noticed that it would begin to incorrectly prompt the wrong address. For instance, if adress 256 on universe 4 was the next free address, when I pressed @ 4/ NEXT, it would attempt to the patch the fixture at a much higher address (for example, say 401). I didnt notice this for a few patches and then found the error and ended up having to go back and manually look at the DMX map and put that as the next address, afraid that the NEXT key would mess up the patch. It's a real shame because in theory, the NEXT button in patch offers some great utility, but I was too afraid to use it after it started to put things in the wrong place.

I realize this doesnt really help you, but hopefully this will be addressed in the next release.
