During a demo to our lighting director he asked about the lack of a Grand Master. I loaded a show file which had fader 40 programmed as a GM (with a lot of help from this forum). Up came the red lights and our new GM worked very well to his great pleasure. We then loaded another show file without a GM. As expected the new load did away with the GM and its lights. However, we couldn't raise any lights at all. I checked everything including raising and lowering fader 40 (previously GM) all to no avail. I was stuck what to do next when I saw a little red panel to the top of a screen that said "Grand Master = 0" What!
After taking a call I found him happily inputting values as per the norm? He said he wasn't sure what he'd done but was "poking around that little red panel when something happened and it disappeared". Wow. Scary.
