[Update] [Enter] with multiple cue lists

Ok, I think I may have figured it out.

[Update] [Enter] will send manual data to a cue if the channel's background value is coming from that cue.

If a channel has no background value, [Update] [Enter] tries to update into the cue list I last pressed Go or Stop/Back on. If it's in Cue 0, it doesnt' have anywhere to update it to.

That's why I keep having problems. I'll bring up one set and then go to Cue 0 on the cue list controlling the other set. I then set manual levels for the cue list that's active. I try to update and nothing happens for some of those channels.

Am I missing anything?

This is not an area I'm an expert in. I've always found Update to be confusing, so I made a macro to [Select Active] [+] [Select Manual] [Update] [Enter] to update all changed values into the cue. I found it saved me on the ambiguity in my mind.

If you run up Cue 1/32, adjust levels, send CueList 10/ to 0.... CueList 10/ is the active CueList. (even though you just took it to 10/0, it was last used.)
To avoid this, I'd specify exactly which cue you want to update instead of relying on the console memory.

Again, Not my best subject. Others may have better suggestions.

Wuz: Update will only use red values, so channels that are active, but not manual will be ignored by the update function. so i claim that at least the first part of your macro doesn't do anything. and IMHO SelectManual Update and Update will do the same thing...

the biggest issue i see people have with Update is that they press Update Enter, when they should press Update, read what the Update Summary in the CIA says and only if they're happy with what is there press Enter...

One problem I did have is that if I had manual values at 0%, they wouldn't Update normally.... This fixed that & I didn't stop to analyse why.

i claim you saw symptoms o fsomething else that you misinderpreted. maybe those channels had values from a sub before you put the at 0% and they wouldn't update because of that...
