Can you use ETC Gadget with mac?

I'm a student and I am thinking about getting a macbook. I am also planning to get the education package. My choice to get a macbook or a windows laptop is dictated by whether the gadget works with a macbook. Does it work with a macbook?

according to the datasheet:

"A portable USB to two five-pin XLR interface, Gadget II connects via
USB to any computer without a network infrastructure. When used
with PC- or Mac-based ETCnomad® controllers, Gadget II outputs
levels via DMX and initiates bidirectional communication using RDM.
The device can also be used with UpdaterAtor or Net3 Concert
software to interact with RDM enabled fixtures or to update ETC
devices."
