channel check macro

Can someone help me out with the proper string to create a channel check macro for patched channels.

Parents
  • [1] [@] [Full] {Chan Check} [Enter]

[Next] (you can loop this if you want.)

    * 1 being the first channel in your rig.

What I actually suggest doing, is building a cue list for chan check, and going by LX for conventionals/static units, and then a separate cue list for movers that runs through their entire feature set, and then run through a few focus palettes to make sure the movers are all still in the same position/haven't shifted over.

  • I have a "Color" button and a "Focus" button on my show MS that represent all fixtures that fit in those categories. So I click Color @ Full then select all the colors I use in the show (also buttons on my MS). then GTCOut and do the same with Focus, clicking on every focus position in the show (also buttons on my MS) However nothing for intensity. I was hoping for something that would automatically clear my command line, put it in flexi patched and start chan check without having to make any manual changes. Then hitting next/last to check. Perhaps not possible?

I hear you about cue lists however I'm thinking since each show has a different patch and a lot of my shows have multiple cue lists I would have to build them in every show and make sure they don't overlap cue lists already in the show, unless I am missing something.

Shift + Clear will insert a {Clear_CMD} command into the macro editor (and will also clear your whole command line).

Firing a snapshot with "Flexi Patched" or running a macro that sets the flexi state to patched would address the second complication, and then as previously mentioned, running the following would make your macro work, once again with the disclaimer that 1 is your start channel:

    [1] [@] [Full] {Chan Check} [Enter]

    [Next] / [Last]

Is this a problem? Are you not cueing from scratch? Are you planning on implementing these in an existing showfile?

I'm not sure how this complicates anything, as you'd be already be building new cues for each show.
