It may be too early to ask this question, but are their any details available for the upcoming OS? New features? Changes? My understanding is it is coming out in early 2019.

Unless it got a real Macro programming language that is worth the name (variables, callable functions etc.) and has stated buttons (on/off or custom) with setters and getters from macros, it should stay below 3.0!

i'm sure there is a plan for something that deserves that special version number...
well it can't stay at 2.9.x forever....
Other software has done 2.9, 2.10 (two point ten), 2.11 (two point eleven), etc.
*cough cough* Apple *cough cough*
Yeah, I'm allergic to apple too.
Most people hating macOS doesn't know anything about operation systems.
+1 that is missing and will give us a chance to write our own functionalities instead of waiting for the ominous list to be real.
I waited about 8 years for the improvements which happens in 2.8, sorry that is annoying.
and i don't think software users should have to have knowledge about operating systems to qualify to use a software.
making idiots
Consider toning down the rhetoric.
Apple's products don't fit everybody's needs. That does not make them idiots. MacOS is fine since it's built on BSD Unix. Maybe Apple will announce a meaningful and long overdue refresh on the hardware next week.
