ETCpad Connect to Element2

Hello, 
We recommend using a closed wifi network for this purpose- so a router or access point connected to the light console or lighting network directly rather than a wifi connection from your console to a larger wireless network.  There may be too much going on in the other network to allow the communication.  Additionally, the Element 2 is not equipped with virus protection and exposing it to the larger network could be putting it at risk.

OK - I understand YOUR concerns but that doesn't tell  US how to connect. Instructions I have read refer to EOS but oft times the Element 2 is somewhat different. e.g. the "Go to settings/desk . . . " How/where do we find explicit instructions for connecting the ETCpad to the Element 2. Without that, there is not a lot of point buying it.

element 2 is a bit different in faders, it can only have one cuelist and some buttons are not there and have been replaced with a softkey. there is no difference in connecting an ETCpad to an element. that's why you won't find a separate instructions document.

the book says [Desk Settings] because until a month ago it used to be called that. they're called [Device Settings] now.

you will need to check Setup>System>Remotes, Setup>Device>Config (optional. makes life easier, but it makes it easier for other people to connect to your console as well) and in the Shell go to Settings>Network and allow WiFi Remote
