Feature Request

Hey all,

I had been discussing with some folks in a facebook forum the other day and one had suggested I submit a feature request.  Simply: the ability to disable the screen jump when you switch between live and blind, so one of my monitors doesn't always jump to the live table when entering/exiting blind.  Sometimes when focussing specifically on micro-level programming I'm less worried about the table and more focussed on the look (I.E DS page and a magic sheet or something), and only need to swap one screen to blind to edit an effect.

    +1 It is annoying, the concept of Blind / Live on EOS is not a good invention. I don't understand why simple list are Blind,
    that makes no really sense. Especially lists should not be a part of Live / Blind, they should be an independent.category.

    I agree. This has been bugging me for years and nobody else seems to care.

    Anne Valentino said "lighting designers were complaining that they couldn't see the channel levels" but if you can't figure out how to view a Tab 1 you have no business sitting in front of a console.

    What I would like is a global "Break Link to Live/Blind" option in Setup that applies to all instances of Tab 1 and Tab 2.

    Here's a couple workarounds for you in the meantime:

    A. Run two consoles on your desk, one in live and one in blind.

    B. Add an extra frame to each workspace and use the Display Controls Menu to shrink it as small as possible. Stick an instance of Tab 1 in there and your other frames won't be affected.

    I agree with you that viewing lists should not affect live vs. blind status. But changing it would require a lot of changing of command line syntax. Many lists change the effect of command line syntax. For example, when in Group List mode, typing a channel selection re-records the group with those channels. If I were in charge, working with groups in Group List mode would function exactly the same as it does in blind. But understandably, reworking the command line syntax is not high on ETC's list of priorities.
