update - understanding question

Hello,

i had something i can't understand.

For my understanding, updating a Preset in Live it only takes over the Data that allready exist in the Preset.

Thats what the Manual on Page242 is suggesting me.

But if i make manual values in Live, clear the comandline, and hit [update] [Preset] [1] [Enter] every manual value will be stored in the Preset. Even if the channel wasn't in the Preset before.

But, for me, thats not how it should work...

Do i get something wrong, or is this on purpose?

Looks like you missed the first step:

"To update a preset, first recall the preset for any channels you wish to edit. [1][Thru][5][Preset][1][Enter] -or- [Recall From][Preset][1][Enter]"

To do it the way you expected you would have to select the fixtures first. Try: [Group] [Preset] [1] [Update] [Enter]

This will first select all the fixures in the preset, and performs a selective update on for that preset
