Partitioned control with client/RVI

I have a show coming in that wants to use two programmers, one for conventionals and one for moving lights.  I know that this can be done with partitioned control on the EOS, but I need to make sure that a client or RVI can be used for the second programmer.   I would try this out but I can't reconfigure the system with a show sitting in the hall and by the time this show is gone I will have to have a solution in place.

I am planning on buying an X-keys for the client or RVI and using that to program the conventionals while the moving light programming is done on the console.

Has anyone done this this way?  Any tips on making the process run smoothly?  (I am going to suggest recording the ML cues and conventional cues into separate cue lists and then linking them on playback)

Thanks,

Todd

I have read the note on the download page as well as the post about x-keys in this forum.  From looking at the x-keys site, it appears that the new keyboards have a "boot" mode which may be the same as the old "meory resident mode".  Has anybody used a new x-keys in the "boot" mode with EOS or do we still need to custom-order the old firmware?

I am also planning on buying a x-keys stick for the client laptop to give our designers easy access to a limited set of display commands so that they don't have to hunt all over the keyboard in the dark during tech.

    Thanks-

    Todd
