Using LED with faders

I have a legacy ion board and ive programmed the faders to use the different LED colors (The normal rainbow, red, orange, all that jazz) and it was working fine but all of a sudden it doesnt work anymore. When i use the faders, the LED colors will turn on but it will stay parked at 100. Even if i were to only turn it up to 6, it will scroll up to 100 when i try to turn it down back to 0. It was fading previously but now it wont. When i use the faders for the normal lights it wont stay parked and will work normally. If you have any more questions about it ill be fine reponding. Please help, ive got a show coming up soon and would like the board to be able to work the way i want it to

  • I'm somewhat guessing at what you are saying but if what you are seeing is as you fade the fade down the colour value its controlling is increasing then that may well be that the background value of the colour in the patch is 100 (which they usually are) and nothing else has control of the fixture ie as you fade out the channel is released back to what was controlling it before (a cue or a sub or the home in the patch) and so it behaves mysteriously in reverse.

just create a cue at the beginning of the show that sets the colours to zero, then the fader will behave more logically if you are doing manual colour mixing
