MSC Stopped working.

This week I upgraded to version 1.4.3.0.19 when I did and loaded the show we are teching I lost midi show control.

I am using Q-Lab and a Moto 828 MKII for this show and had it configured and working now nada. 

For that matter can anyone point me to additional documentation on MSC and the way they implement it?

I have used Q-Lab with our Express and with the previous software on ION with no problems...

When changing the settings in Setup > Show Settings > Show Control when is the board actually updated? Do the settings take effect as soon as I switch to LIVE? or do I need to exit ION or even reboot?

  • Sorry to say that we have just discovered a defect in 1.4.3 software that seems to have caused MIDI and analog inputs to stop working on the ION console.   This is limited to the ports on the ION console itself.  NET3 show control and I/O gateways will still function normally with both ION and EOS Consoles.

    It is recommended that if you are using MIDI connected directly to the ION that you DO NOT upgrade to 1.4.3.  

    If you have already upgraded to 1.4.3, please run the 1.4.2 installer again and select the "remove" option to remove 1.4.3.  Then run the 1.4.2 installer one more time to install 1.4.2 back on your Ion.

    Please note, if you are not using MIDI or analog inputs, it is still highly recommended that you upgrade to 1.4.3.

    No worries. Knowing that its not the crack I have been smoking and that there really is an issue is a big deal.

    This is a community theater show and the net result will simply be they have to have a board op instead of running the automated show I had hoped. 

    Will a patch be available before 1.5 to fix this?

    If not no big deal I can wait, it beats the heck out of my old express. So much that a few hiccups are well worth putting up with.

    We will be releasing a patch before 1.5.0 that should fix the issue.   The exact time frame is still to be determined.
