Ion xe touchscreen troubleshoot or recommendation

My school recently purchased an Ion Xe and two Dell P2418HT monitors. Despite being in charge of the lighting systems here, I was not involved in the purchase of the monitors.  The Elo configuration is not recognizing the monitors as touchscreen capable, but in reading all the manuals I could find, they should be working.  Am I forgetting a step? If these monitors are not recognized by the Elo system, can someone recommend a monitor in the same price range ($300) that would work with our system? I appreciate any help and guidance. Thank you.

  • first of all: did you connect the displays not only with their video cable but also by USB?

you don't need the Elo config. in the shell go to settingfs, general, Monitor Arrangement. with an external keyboard connected click Configure Touchscreens. one of you monitors is now asking to touch it. do that until the text changes and press Enter on the external keyboard, continue until finished. this tool will map the touch event to the correct monitor.

if the touch events go to the correct monitor but the mouse pointer doesn't go exactly to where you pressed with your finger, use the Calibrate button also within the Monitor Arrangement tool.

  • Thank you for helping out. Forgot to plug in the second cable. I'll delete this out of embarrassment.
