seeking suggestions for colour effect with scrollers

Im seeking suggestions for creating a sweeping colour effect using standard ChromaQ scrollers. I'd like to see the individual scrollers start at different places in their scroll then sweep up and down their frames with a phased offset from each other. I know how to preset the 10 scrollers to 10 different frames (that's easy), but then having the channels go up to frame 11 then reverse and go back down to frame 2, rinse, repeat...that's the part that has me puzzled. Any thoughts?

  • Just to add to what BSmith said... in the absolute effect, set your grouping to {Spread} and Trail to {Even}.  Try playing with these to see what effects you can get..  maybe a shorter trail, or smaller / larger groupings.  Also play with the order you select your fixtures at that will impact the order of the effect.

You can also try a relative effect.  Set your offset size to 45% (that is assuming you want your scrollers to go from 10% > 90%).  Again play with groupings and trail settings.  Again, the order in which you select your fixtures will also be the order the effect is applied.  Just make sure the overall effect time is longish...say 10 seconds.  If the lenght is too short, then your scrollers will be chasing their tail trying to get from one end of the string to the other.

    Happy programming! :-)
