[2.8.0] Moving a channel in patch removes it from the active partition

I haven't had a chance to update to 2.8.1 yet but I don't see this in the release notes, so I thought I'd ask...

If I move a channel in patch, it will remove it from the active partition, even if the channel's start and end points were a part of the partition before moving.  So, for example, if I am in a partition of channels 1 > 1000, and move channel 100 to 20, the partition will now be channels 1 > 99, 101 > 1000.

I'm not sure if this is expected or not, but it seems...odd to me.
