Console Lock/Unlock Bug 2.8.1?

Question

Seems that the console can be unlocked with just Escape key. No shift-escape combo needed. Anyone else seeing this?

I thought along the same lines and tried that exact thing but it just brought up the regular update dialogue. Also to lock the console I definitely had to use the shift key. In any case a reboot after the show cleared this strange behavior but I would like to know possible causes/fixes in case it repeats itself. I did have an external keyboard attached but shortcuts were not enabled.
