Hi Eos Family,
I’m new to the lighting industry and new to the ION console. Up to this point documentation has been my friend...until now!
FYI- there is literally no documentation out there that I can find explaining how to configure the ASTERA ART7 Transmitter to “any” console or troubleshoot it if it’s not working!!!
So here’s my issue!
I have an ION console (win7 framework) using the lates Firmware 2.8.1 and Fixture Library 2.8.0.59, two Skypanel S60-C connected via DMX cable using RDM on DMX port 2 configured for universe-2 (513-534 & 535-556).This setup is working well.
What’s not work well is….control of my ASTERA AX3 Lightdrops connected wirelessly to an ASTERABOX ART7 Transmitter connected to the ION console.
The ART7 Transmitter is “hardwired” directly to the ION via a DMX adapter cable (supplied in the ART7 transmitter kit by ASTERA for this type of application) on DMX port 1 universe-1 (1-3..5..23?) I’ve tried them all.
There seams to be zero communication between the ION console and the ASTERABOX ART7 transmitter via the DMX adapter cable, used to wirelessly control the ASTERA AX3 Lightdrops.
My thought...lol.. is that maybe the protocols with the ION and the ART7 transmitter are not compatible? or a node or dongle is needed?
Already Verified;
(1) ION console - is sending an Intensity value of 255 out just like my other fixtures. Console has all of the Astera fixtures in the library. Ive even used every setting when patching, from a simple 3 channel RGB to an 23 channel effects setting. Nothing!
(2) ASTERABOX ART7 Transmitter - is controlling the LEDs via the ASTERA APP when disconnected from the cable as well as some functionality while connected.
(3) ASTERA AX3 Lightdrop LED lights - are responding to the ART7 Transmitter when disconnected from the DMX cable as well as some functionality while connected and using the ASTERA APP. (which is required by Astera in order to pre-configure the lights with the console)
If anyone can help me out by sending me a manual, link to instructions, or even conformation that I'm missing a steep and this will not work I would greatly appreciate the assistance!
Thank You,
Michael Ward
