We need to drop the firmware file onto the device in bootloader mode to resolve this, and then fully power cycle the board.
If you are getting this message immediately after attempting a firmware update and have not yet rebooted, please do so first.
Then, give your local ETC office a ring and we can walk you through loading the firmware safely-- as Ueli suggested.
