With Windows 7 support being phased out by Microsoft in 2020, I was wondering if there are plans to have EOS run in a Windows 10 environment (or newer) on ETC consoles and the Nomad Puck. I am planning to get a Gigabyte box (similar to what the Nomad Puck ships in now) for my Nomad dongle which will have Windows 10, and I’ll be able to switch between Hog and Eos, and can remove my laptop from most setups. But I have also been looking at purchasing the larger consoles and RPUs as some setups need a higher address count than the 6k addresses that the Nomads provide. I am reluctant to invest the money in the RPU or the Ion XE since I know that the 10 year old software is being phased out, without knowing if there will be an upgrade process for the OS on the ETC hardware.
I understand, too, that EOS runs mostly just fine on Windows 7, and may continue to do so for years to come, but I will also always have Nomad running in an up to date system software release. The disparity is always jarring during software updates on EOS hardware verses the hardware running with the the Nomad dongle.
