Ion DMX outputs to input nodes

I am using my Ion in a black box which also has a proscenium space with an Eos installed next door. The two spaces have their networks tied together, so for the sake of confusion with the Eos system, I chose to use the DMX outputs instead of conecting to the network. This space typically runs an Express to an input node which the edmx start number is 10,001. We have been seeing several "glitches" in the DMX on both ports which can really only be attributed to the Ion. Once in awhile, all the lights will drop, then come back on instantly. Has anyone seen this problem going from the DMX out to an input node?  I am hoping to resolve this without having to use the network as a solution, but will do it if I absolutly have to.

  • Kinda sounds like 2 network devices are trying to feed Edmx to that rack....  Do you have a spare Node that you could swap with?   Have you tried reconnecting the Express console, and seeing if the problem continues or goes away??  Have you investigated the Node input settings?   Sounds like Hold Last Look is not enabled?  Maybe try isolating the second space on an isolated network.  But that would require a hard repatch and a spare network switch....  -Bob
