Eos Software and Catalina Support

A word to you all about Catalina support. Many of you are Mac people, some of whom engage in beta testing for their ongoing OS development. Apple is making some fundamental changes in Catalina (not the least of which is requiring all apps to be 64-bit) that are impacting our support at this time. 2.9 (which is upcoming for release) does take the Mac builds to 64-bit. But there are also driver requirement changes that influence the ability of USB devices to be recognized by the OS. This includes the Nomad dongle. We are attempting to resolve this now - but our vendors are also just now starting beta for these changes and have advised their code is not released and as such should not be included in released software. Therefore, it is highly likely that 2.9 will release without Catalina support - and we will have a follow-on 2.9.1 for this. Just wanted to give you all a heads up about this issue.

Thanks much!

Anne
