Color Palettes With Direct Selects

Hi, 
 This might sound a bit stupid but I have always wondered when you have your direct selects on colour palettes. How do you get the little corner of colour.

it's in the direct select settings (and by default activated if i'm not mistaken). double click on the tab's tab (below the direct selects, where it says "4 DS CP". there is a checkbox for "Use Color Swatch". 
 the color that's shown for each color palette is the color of the channel with the highest number within that color palette.
