Using Eos Offline software as a "listen only" client.

Leo.... short answer... no, if you want to connect a third party computer live on the network you need a dongle.   One should have been shipped to your venue on registration of the product.???

Just as a question - because I was told by a member of ETC technical when I briefly asked the question:

The EOS/ION Offline download available on the website: If I download - will the client on that not connect to the EOS/ION then? Do I have to have the dongle provided on registration connected to the laptop/macbook to be able to use the client software?

Clients require a dongle. You cannot connect as Client without one.

Dongle kits are available to purchase, and we are also giving every Eos/Ion owner a free one as a thankyou for registering.

In a bit of breaking news, starting with sv1.8, you will be able to connect a PC running the offline software to a network without a client dongle.  When this is done, that device can work in mirror mode only (meaning it will mimic the displays of the primary console).   The only operations possible from the PC at this point will be paging.  If you want to do more than view the programmers displays, you will still need a client dongle.
