Scrollers and Submasters; a problem?

Hi everyone,

 

So I want to put submasters for the area lights on stage. Channels 1, 21 and 41 into sub 1. I record this and everything is fine. The problem is when I introduce my scrollers on channels 61-69 then use my submasters, the color data is getting into the sub and the scrollers change color. Is there any way to remove this color data from the subs?

 

A similar question I have is how does automark work? I need the scrollers to change before the lights come on, but they are changing as the lights come up.

  • To remove something from a sub you go into the sub - [Blind] [Sub] 1 [Enter]

    Then you can [@] [Enter].

    So in your case i would do : [Blind] [Sub] 1 [Enter] 61 thru 69 {color} @ [Enter]

     

    Auto Mark should be changing the colour before the lamp turns on. On a Grandmother sucking eggs thing, make sure that the light isn't on in the previous cue or that there isn't a really long cue before which is making the scroll happen slowly. Does the previous cue complete before you hit Go on the cue which brings the lamps up.

    Also make sure Auto Mark is enabled in the settings. I think by default it is not.

    Thank you very much Crispy. This worked very well. I don't know if I have any time to figure out automark, I may do it the old fashoned way for this show.

  • In your case are you using your color scrollers as normal chanles or are they patched as color scrollers attached to an intencity chanel? If you have patched them as color scrollers attached to an intencity chanel you can recrod the sub minus the color information. On the ION I believe that you have to mouse over to color in the CIA and click on it. Unless you have touch screens with you ION. Just an idea. Or if you wanted to play with using Presets for your area lights you can use filters to mask out your color information. I am not sure if filters work when recording submasters. That could be useful though.

    Have you used intencity master subs? They are really useful when trying to busk with the desk.
