Fixture migration??

I have a show coming in from a different theatre that is using Mac Encores , but we can't get the encores here and are using VL3500's instead. Is it possible to migrate the information so we don't have to spend a bunch of time re programming??

Just change the fixture type in patch. The data will remain in place for all the parameters which are named the same. There will be some necessary tweaking afterwards for things which don't line up between the two fixtures eg. zoom range, gobo wheels, etc.

First step of course is to back up the show file. Then in patch, before changing the fixture type, copy the Macs into dummy channels using the "plus show" option so you can refer to the original data if you need to.
