Help with Displays

While there is a lot about Eos and Ion that seems familiar to people, one of the biggest adjustments seems to be using the displays... how to navigate them, how to change their formats, what the symbols mean.    It all comes at you pretty fast during training.  So, the attached document is an attempt to help clarify these things.  The document is written with an eye toward Eos.  Almost all of the ideas are the same for you Ion folks!  At the end, you'll find a brief description of how Ion differs from Eos.

Anyway, hope this is helpful.

There will be further documents in this vein on different topics.

Happy programming.

Regardless of what cue list is currently being displayed by the PSD, the information for the Master fader doesn't change.  It is always going to be displayed in the section of the PSD just below the cue list and above the F1-F10 displays.  When you are running cues on F1-F10, the follow time counts down in area of the display related to F1-F10.

To load different cue lists to any of your faders, put the cue that you want to start with on the command line (Cue 2/1 Enter) and press the load button for the desired location.  You'll know see that cue show up in pending and the next press of go will run it.

    Does that help?

Sadly this does not help me, with my issue.  At this point the show has moved on and I am back to simpler times, but it still remains I need to be able to see the follow times on ANY of my faders beside the master fader.  I am on an ION not an EOS so I do not have a F1-F10 display  unless its buried somewhere and I can view those as virtual playbacks somewhere. (That would totally help me out).  IS this a possibility?  The other answer would be to show information about active cues IN the cue list we are viewing on the ion.  Itd be really cool if I could  hit 6/ ENTER and see what is actively happening even if I have it mapped to sub 37.  As it stands right now you CAN see that a cue is running, but the follow information isn't displayed, and this is where my frustration lays.   Maybe another option is to also show follow information in the LCD display on the submaster fader wing.    Anyhow, thanks for listening to me blather, I just feel like I am missing a tidbit of information on the ION that would totally solve a number of problems for me.

  • Wil-

In version 1.4.5, if the board op used UNDO, they would have to press [clear] to clear the command line and collapse the CIA on the client node.  This was using a laptop as the client, so I don't know if that makes a difference or if the behavior has changed in ver. 1.7.

For the group display- the channel list is shown in order of channel entry.  This is because order of channel entry matters on the EOS.  To get the group display to show in order, you have to select the channels in order and record the group.

The hotkey for timing display is Ctrl-T.

    Hope this helps-

  • You can set a [Time] key for your RVI in the EOS shell. Use the RVI button in settings.

    Hope that helps
