copy fixture profile - copy and original are linked while editing

You might have been editing the gel set not the profile, they can be shared between profiles.   (At least that's how it works with a fixture with a colour wheel)

Let me write down what i did.

1. I made a copy of the fixture profile

2. i edited the copy (made 'Bgr Red' into 'Red')

3. i noticed that the original changed in the same way the copy did.

4. recalled the original from the Lib via update Lib

5. i noticed that the original and the copy are both the same as in the Lib again

That is strange. I will try to reproduce. Are you on a console or mac or PC?

found the problem. it's because of multicell

you copied the fixture but this still references the original cells. so it's like you have a new envelope, but inside the envelope you still have the same.

in the fixture editor you would have expand the fixture so you can see the cells. click the background cell, click Copy. it will get added under Cells detached from MC fixture. in there you can edit the copied cell. afterwards click on the copied full fixture, click Edit Multicell, click the the background cell. a menu will open that lets you choose the modified cell. then Save Fixture

Good find, Ueli! We probably need to change this so that a copy of a MC profile also copies the child cells. It's more rare that we'd want to have the master cell different but keep the association to the original child cells. 

thank you, i was already typing a request :) . i think we'd more often want to have edited cells (so have also copied cells) than just editing the master (and use the same set of cells). so my vote is for changing the current behaviour
