I probably am misunderstanding the question. When I've edited a MS and clicked (the yellow arrow) to get out of edit mode Iright click the MS tag, 'Zoom to all' and "Lock' - once done everything on sheet is locked down.
No, you haven’t misunderstood the question, I wasn’t specific enough. I was aiming to create a MS of a generic stage map which other LDs could adapt to suit their designs without inadvertently disturbing fixed items like the dark green background rectangle I use to make zero intensity fixtures more visible.
Hmm, I tried importing a green rectangle made in paint. Sent it to the bottom so the controls lay on top. Then tried various combinations of "use while editing" to see if I could stop someone moving it. Didn't work! Sorry. Not sure about ueliriegg's "plot" a background that can't be moved. Maybe he could provide a bit more detail.
