How to track through an interruption in the cue flow, e.g. for a freeze look

I would like to set a look at the top of a scene and then reference it later.  If I have a "freeze" for example, I would like to go back to the original look.  I would like to modify the look at the top of scene and not have to update every cue to the new value, essentially have it track through the freeze section.

I use presets to do this now, but I create a lot of presets to track that are only relative to one particular scene.

Does anyone have a better way to do this?

  • I believe that on someones notebook somewhere, there is a feature request for this very thing. A couple of years ago I brought this up in an advisory team meeting, to implement something similar to the Skip Cue function on Compulite consoles, where you can 'flag' a cue as a Skip Cue, and when updating to track it would essentially tunnel the update under the Skip flag and continue to track as normal until meeting a form of block/move.
