ML dimming

You have recorded the pan and tilt move in to the cue where the ML fades out. In order to make best use of Automark, you should build your cues like:

1. ML in position A and on
2. ML fade out but not change position
3. ML fade up in position B

The console will mark the ML (move the ML while dark to the new position) between 2 and 3.

If you look at the cue list, you should see a "L" in the MV column for cues that have lights moving while on, and a "D" for cues where the lights are moving while dark.

When I go into the next cue (post spot) the P&T go to zero (per uelriegg console protection) so I manually put in the same coordinates as the previous (spot on) cue (but zeroed intensity), updated the (post spot) cue and things worked.  I seem to be missing how to keep the P&T not changing position. The cue with the spot on and in position doesn't have L or D. The next cue (with my P&T in same pos but int out) has a L and the one after that a D. Time to move off computer and re-read this part of the manual again I reckon!

I am assuming your 1,2 and 3 were different cues.

Yes, 1, 2 and 3 are different cues.

The "L" will appear if any attribute of any multi-parameter fixture is changing while the intensity is above zero. It's possible that some other parameter is changing (look for values in blue).

It's neither good nor bad if a cue is showing an "L" or "D" flag- it's just the console letting you know what is going on in the cue at a glance.

rather than manually put in the same coordinates as the previous cue, just tell the console not to do anything. so in cue 16 you say Chan 1 At Enter (which makes it stay put) and then press Out because you do want to have it fade out.

Ah! I tried this but missing something. Let me provide a concrete example;

Cue 15 Has the P&T set and Intensity at FL to spotlight an actor.

With no other changes, going into the next cue causes the spot to move (to its previous cue 15 position) as it fade. So, from what I thought I read I should;

Move to the next cue 16. Enter Chan 1 (the chan my ML is on) followed by [At] {Enter] [Out].

Then update this cue (16)

Hmm! I went wrong somewhere because I'm still getting that move and fade business.

You guys were right. I messed up selecting the fixture to AT! Sorry. Everything fine now and making sure I have made some good notes on this. Phew!
