Fixture profile change - Cameo

Hey,

I noticed differences between the Fixture Library and the reality of the Fixtures. And this although the Fixture Library exactly follows the manufacturer's specifications... I don't know exactly what the wrong information was, I made local copies of the type and corrected everything in them.

Cameo AuroSpot 100/200: Pan may be 540°/630° and Tilt 240°

Cameo NanoSpot 300: Pan is 540° and Tilt about 199° - asyncron reaching from -98° to 101°

Cameo HydraBeam 4000 RGBW: Pan is 540° and Tilt only 220°.

Moreover I tried to find Gobos in the library matching the default ones from the AuroSpot and NanoSpot as good as possible. Listed in ascending order from Gobo1 to Gobo n:

AuroSpot: Acme 07 07; Blizzard Lighting 010 010; Abstract 15 dot tunnel; Ablelite 001 001; American DJ 055 55; Martin 002 fat bar

NanoSpot: Abstract 12 tunnel; American DJ 165 165; American DJ 166 166; American DJ 167 167; Blizzard Lighting 007 007; American DJ 168 168; American DJ 169 169

EOS version 2.9.1 b17; Library version 2.9.1.8

And one last question: At least in my region, moving heads are placed or hung in such a way that the cables can be connected to the side facing away from the viewer. Why are moving heads always panned facing stage left (hanging) or stage right (standing) in default? Wouldn't it be easier to define a pan range from -180° to 360° in order to have 0° facing to the crowd or in negative tilt to the stage? I think there's a point behind it, can anyone explain it to me?

    Hi Lars,

    In regards to the Pan and Tilt degrees: it is not abnormal for the Pan of a fixture to exceed 360° to allow the fixture to move past the point of origin and it majority of fixtures will not be able to have a 360° tilt as the base in which they are hung prevents the fixture head from circling around itself. If the Eos profile has been written to the manfacturer's spec it sounds likely that this may be the case.

    I'm unsure what your question is regarding the gobos, however. Are you saying the gobos in these Eos profiles do not match the gobos designated on the manual?

    Hi Therese, Hi Ueliriegg,

    Like Ueliriegg already explained, I tried to say that the pan/tilt ranges don't match the ranges the specs and the profile say.

    About the gobos: There were no gobo icons given. There was just text "open", "gobo 1", "gobo 2", ... I tried to find some gobos in gobo library that matches the gobos in reality as close as possible.

    Hi Lars,

    Do you happen to have the documentation from the manufacturer that includes these gobo images? If we do not have these added to the library we can certainly try to get them added in upcoming builds.

    the following picture is number 12 in the product images zip of the Auro Spot 200

    gobo wheel open isn't the last one. The order of them is incorrect in default. I wans't able to take a screenshot of my created gobo wheels in EOS.

    Right order is: open, four dods on the right, stripes in the middle, ring on mid top, wheel upper left corner, triangle upper right corner, figure mid left.

    and number 13 in the product images zip of the Nano Spot 300

    Again wrong order. Correct is: open, circle down left, figure upper left corner, star upper right corner, bricks in the middle, dots on mid left, figure in mid top, stripes mid down

    I don't know why there is no documentation about the default gobos in default order. Moreover the gobos are shown coloured. They in fact aren't. Their behavior is like Light blocking or not.

    Would be great if you could integrate this default gobowheel config in EOS.

    Hi Lars,

    Sorry for the delay. Without the default gobo images being featured in the manual, the Eos team will not be able to add a default gobo wheel to the Gobo Select of the channel's Attributes in Patch. We would recommend using a custom created gobo wheel and applying this to your Gobo Select, which it sounds like you have done already. If you are able to contact the manufacturer so that they can provide the documentation with images of default gobos in default order we should be able to edit the fixture profile to have this wheel automatically populate.
