Writing a simple chase with two lamps from 0-60%

Hey Guys,

how would y'all write a simple chase in Ion having two lights randomly going from 0-60% (seperately)

and then bring this into a cue?

  • Corey,

Hey, that's a pretty good one.  I thought it'd be a no brainer till I tried it.  I was thinking about doing two seperate chases with random rates (one for each channel), but I couldn't get random rate to work on any effect type.  What am I missing?

This was an Ion running 1.4.2.

Also, I wish the LCD Soft keys would populate consistently throughout all of the Effects editing screens.

With Random Rate, you need to specify a rate value.  ie: [random rate 50 > 120 enter]

To answer Corey's question, a step effect with random rate is one way, the other way I can think of would be using linear effect.  Clear the sinewave pattern and draw your own random pattern.  Set the effect to a grouping of 2. Play around with the  trail, and maybe a random rate.  Although this isn't truly random, if you draw a kooky enough pattern, it will look random
