Why is a fixture reporting "on" all the time?

I have a showfile within which I have set up a pair of Prolights PixieWash XB fixtures. No matter what I do, they seem to be always on, and report 255 in the output cell in patch. I tried setting them up in a new file and they are fine, but they are always on in the showfile I am working on. This is not happening with any other fixtures within the showfile. I have deleted them and repatched them but they keep coming up as on. However in a brand new showfile, they are fine. Any ideas?

  • whenever you patch a fixture in a showfile Eos copies the fixture personality from the library to the showfile. the advantage of this procedure is that a fixture update through a library update or a new software version does not influence the patched fixtures and the show.

it looks like the fixture you're using has received a fixture profile update. to check this:

    - first of all safe your showfile as the updating of fixture profiles in no undo-able
    - go to Patch > Fixtures
    - use the arrow keys to navigate the fixture list to the fixture in question
    - click the UpdateProfile softkey
    - read and understand the warning
    - click ok
    - go to Live
    - GoToCue Out Enter
    - check if it's better
