Channel "Release" on an Ion

I'm demo-ing an Ion.  I've been on an Expression 3 for 5 years.  If I'm on a cue and channels 1-5 are at 50%,and I want to see what 80% looks like, I can hit channel 1-5 at 80 enter (on Exp. 3), then if I don't like it, I just hit "REL" (release) and it goes back to 50%, or whatever it was originally on the cue.  On Ion if I do the same thing, but there isn't a "Release" button, I don't know how to do the same thing- to get back to what was originally programmed in the cue, essentially "un-capturing" the channels.  I see where if you hit "clear" enough times to clear the command line, it'll sort of un-highlight the channels that were "captured" but the levels stay unchanged until you go forward or backward in the cue list.  There's got to be a way, I just haven't found it yet.

Hopefully this is clear enough that someone knows what I'm sayin'...

  • If you were so inclined, you could write a macro that says:

[Sneak] [0] [Enter] in order to recreate your "release" button.

the only problem is that if you have cleared you command line it will behave more like what you think of as "release release", so you would have to type [channel selection] then [your macro] to release ONLY that channel selection.

hope that is useful to you.
