Hello! For the musical at my school, I attempted to make a couple of part cues to make transitions smoother. However, they did not seem to be working. I decided to test what the problem was and made a test cue. In cue 1, I had all my lights on full. I then recorded cue 2 part 1 in time 0 as a blackout. I then placed all my lights at full and recorded cue 2 part 2 time 0 delay 5. My understanding was that if the part cues were working properly when I hit the go button to go from cue 1 to cue 2 then all my lights would turn off in a time of 0 and wait 5 seconds and then come back to full in a time of 0. Unfortunately, the lights just continued to be at full and there was no blackout. We have an Element 2 console. Does anyone know if I am doing something wrong? Thanks so much!
There is a misunderstanding what part cues can do and what they can't do.
Part cues are meant to be different sections of the same cue so you can e.g. assign different timing to channels. But within…
And if you wanted it to go to full after 5 second without pressing go then just set a follow or hang so cue 3 executes automatically after 5 seconds
Part cues are meant to be different sections of the same cue so you can e.g. assign different timing to channels. But within one cue each parameter only gets one move.
What you are looking for are three cues instead of two: cue 1 has lights on, cue 2 had lights off and finally cue 3 has lights on again
Thanks so much! I understand now how they work.
Okay, thank you
